Liessa Alperin is our Religious School Director and leads our nationally accredited Religious Education program. A graduate of Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Liessa joined Shaare Emeth in 2004 with 10 years of experience working in religious school settings. She brought with her an amazing portfolio of cutting edge ideas to lead Shaare Emeth religious education programming into the 21st century. Liessa is married to Mark and they have two children Ellye and Micah.

Marci Diamond, joined our staff 3 years ago developing family programs for our 7th through 10th grade Kehillah families. As Religious School’s Family Engagement Coordinator, she continues to supervise the Kehillah program and staff, assists with all school programs and special events for the PreK-6th grade classes, helps coordinate both the 6th and 8th grade retreats, and recently reinstated the Post Confirmation program. A St. Louis native, Marci grew up in Creve Coeur, is married to Ronn and has 2 daughters, Amanda, 22 and Erica, 19. Marci received her undergraduate degree from Denver University in Art Education and is certified in Kindergarten through 12th grade. She also has a lifetime teaching certificate in the state of Missouri. After receiving a master’s degree in Curriculum Development, Administration and Supervision in Education from the University of Colorado in Boulder, she has been working in the St. Louis Jewish Community for the past 20 years. Marci’s spirit and warmth provides a welcoming sense of belonging, while her dedication and creativity offers that connection and link to Jewish life for all of our Shaare Emeth families. |

Tammy McNaughton - Religious School Admin. Assistant - Tammy came to us from the Jewish Community Center, where she was the Administrative Assistant for the Early Childhood Education and Jewish Life Departments. She has a Bachelor's degree is Social Studies Education from John Brown University. Tammy and her husband Tim live in St. Charles. They have one son together, Sylas and she has two step children, Sara and Drew. |
